FUNDRAISE FOR BCM

Turn a personal challenge into outdoor access for someone else
In addition to volunteering, you can support Big City Mountaineers by creating your own fundraiser connected to a personal challenge.
Each year, members of our community choose to take on something meaningful in their own lives — and use it as an opportunity to expand access to the outdoors for young people. There’s no set format. Just intention.
What it looks like
Your challenge can be anything that feels meaningful to you:
- Spending time outdoors — hiking, running, paddling, or exploring
- Learning a new outdoor skill or building confidence in nature
- Creating or leading an experience that brings others outside
It can be big or small, solo or shared. What matters is the purpose behind it.
Why Your Fundraising Effort Matters
Too many young people miss the opportunity to explore the benefits of nature — from cost to transportation to not feeling like they belong. Big City Mountaineers exists to change that.
By starting a fundraiser, you help make transformative outdoor experiences possible for youth — experiences that build confidence, connection, and a sense of belonging.
Our Collective Goal
Together, participants are working toward a $20,000 annual goal to support youth outdoor programs.
Every fundraiser contributes to that shared impact.

What about adventure for someone & summit for someone?
Big City Mountaineers has evolved its community fundraising approach to better align with how many supporters are looking to engage today. As a result, we are no longer offering the Adventure for Someone and Summit for Someone programs. While these programs have played an important role in building our community and impact over the years, we’ve transitioned to more flexible, inclusive ways for individuals and groups to get involved and fundraise on behalf of BCM.
Supporters can now participate through a broader peer-to-peer fundraising model as part of our “Take Action” opportunities—allowing you to create your own adventure, set your own goals, and rally your community in a way that’s personal and meaningful. This shift enables more people to take part, removes barriers to entry, and ultimately helps us expand access to life-changing outdoor experiences for the youth we serve. This is a shared commitment. A group of people choosing, each year, to show up in a way that reflects what they believe: That the outdoors should be accessible to everyone. That young people deserve spaces where they feel they belong. That personal actions can create meaningful change.
Thank you for being a part of the adventure!
