Seasonal Program Coordinator

Description: The mission of Big City Mountaineers is to instill critical life skills in under-served youth through transformative wilderness mentoring experiences. Big City Mountaineers does this in partnership with a vibrant network of youth agencies and adult volunteer mentors and delivers a proven youth development curriculum that strengthens assets and skills in its young people. The seasonal programs coordinator is responsible for assisting the program team with national and local summer logistics including packing meals for expeditions, coordinating food orders with overnight program staff, organizing and managing gear inventory, and assisting instructors with student gear issue. Additionally, this position assists with youth and adult application screening; entering youth, volunteer, and instructor applications into BCM’s database; and completing other assignments as needed, determined by the program manager.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and logistical skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced and fluid work environment
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Familiarity with outdoor (backpacking) gear
  • Must be able to lift 25 – 50 lbs
  • Comfortable being held accountable to expectations
  • Experience with database administration preferred
  • Have a valid driver’s license

Reports to the Colorado Program Manager

Location: Golden, CO

Compensation: Full-time, seasonal (40hrs/week) April through August. $14-$15/hr.
