Regional Program Director Job Description
The Regional Program Director is responsible for managing a BCM program region directly supported by shared services. This role is charged with the management and growth of a vibrant and engaged program region. RPDs deliver safe, high quality, and effective wilderness expeditions and outdoor programs to instill critical life skills in under resourced adolescent youth. The RPD, in congruence with national program plans and standards, creates and owns the regional program strategy.
RPDs have secondary emphasis on community engagement as directed. A successful RPD will build a strong partnership with youth agencies, volunteers, instructors, donors, land managers, and sponsors, engaging them in all aspects of supporting and growing the program region.

Program & Staff Management
- Manage regional program to highest quality and standards, and ensure regional programs are consistent with BCM’s national vision and mission
- Take part in creating regional and national program strategy and program development
- Manage regional instructional staff to ensure high quality and safe programs
- Place and manage volunteers and youth agency staff to create strong expedition teams
- Expedition logistics and scheduling
- Plan and execute local logistics
- Report to HQ
- Facilitate local training
- Develop and manage youth agencies
- Manage local program budget
- Facilitate youth selection
- Screen participants for program fit
- Administer surveys and assessments
- Acquire and manage land use permits

Community Engagement
- Build and maintain a vibrant community of BCM supporters around regional hubs
- Support local sponsor and donor relationships
- Take part in creating a community engagement strategy
- Identify and outreach to new BCM community members
- Identify funding and program growth opportunities within region

Requirements
- Experience in youth development
- Experience supervising others
- Experience with outdoor programs
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Outstanding verbal and written communication
- Mastery working with Windows, Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
- Comfort with basic IT tasks
