Challenge Campaigns
Thank you for supporting Big City Mountaineers and promoting work with under-resourced urban teens. Big City Mountaineers offers several campaign platforms for our volunteers and supporters, and for adventure enthusiasts who would like to raise money for a cause like Big City Mountaineers while challenging themselves.
Current BCM Challenge Campaigns
Ben Gipson Ben Gipson is a former Summit For Someone climber, and he liked the challenge of climbing Mount Rainier and the challenge of raising money for BCM back in 2008. In 2010, he decided to take a year to raise $10,000 for BCM and run a marathon in March, complete a triathlon in July, and decide on and complete two more events in the fall and winter.
REI 8000 Meter Challenge REI San Francisco will be entering a team in the Jansport 8000 Meter Challenge which will be held September 9, 2010. It is an event put on by Jansport each year for employees of outdoor retailers. The challenge is hiking 38 miles, as you summit the three tallest peaks in Southern California (Mt. Baldy, San Gorgonio and San Jacinto) in a 24-hour period.
