At Big City Mountaineers we believe we can make a difference in the lives of under-served youth in urban areas across the U.S. through mentorship in the outdoors. We work with young people that currently have no access to the wilderness and, more often than not, no adult challenging them and celebrating their personal growth. We believe weeklong wilderness expeditions with caring adult mentors not only provide powerful experiences, but set the stage for lifelong learning and lasting relationships.  With your support and Big City Mountaineers’ curriculum, we will continue impacting lives and delivering transformative wilderness mentoring expeditions.

Mentor

Volunteer mentors are the backbone of the Big City Mountaineers program. Big City Mountaineers is always looking for qualified, positive adult role models to fill our needs as adult leaders. Learn more or contact us today with questions!

Donate

Your donation changes the lives of under-served urban youth.  Kids who participate in Big City Mountaineers expeditions walk away with an improved perception of self and better social competencies.  They have faced challenges boldly with their team, realized success, and come back home to tell the story of their journey, having grown from the experience.

Climb

Without the dozens of courageous volunteers who sign up for Summit For Someone each year, BCM would cease to exist. Our SFS climbers take on two formidable commitments: mentally and physically preparing to climb one of North America’s most challenging peaks, and raising thousands of dollars. All to help improve the lives of kids they might never meet.
